A WWI themed flower festival will be held at St Lawrence Church in Penarth this weekend.

The church on Fort Road, Lavernock, will be commemorating The Great War in its annual ‘Flowers on a theme’ festival on Saturday and Sunday.

Revd Margaret Stark and her loyal working group have been overwhelmed by the amazing response from the community to contribute to the festival.

Three floristry tutors from the Lily Pad Flower School, Toni Horne, owner of the school and florist shop, Barbara Cummings, Chelsea Gold medallist and Sharon Dower, Chelsea Silver medallist, have agreed to make floral creations to complement the large scale arrangements that will be made by the very talented flower arrangers at the church.

There is no entrance fee and all are most welcome on Saturday and Sunday between 10am and 4pm. A free public car park is available on the left just before the church.

“I am so excited about this project and cannot wait to see how our wonderful working party bring it all together,” said Revd Margaret.
