THE Energy Saving Trust, Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) and Citizens Advice are urging homes in the Vale of Glamorgan to switch appliances off standby to save money.
Homes could save £3.4m a year simply by switching unused appliances fully of instead of leaving them on standby.
The findings from an Ipsos MORI survey found 74 per cent of people are worried about energy bills but only half check to see if unused appliances are off.
