Penarth Cytûn (Council of Churches) has organised a Christmas version of the annual Good Friday March through the town.
The march, which will also feature carol singing, has been organised as a witness within the community of Jesus’ presence and hope at Christmas.
It will take the format of the Good Friday March of Witness, processing from the top of Arcot Street to West House, starting at 5pm on Saturday, December 20, with participants carrying lights and singing carols.
Keith Howells, from Penarth Cytun, said: "We invite all the people of Penarth to come and sing carols as we walk through the town. Please bring your own torches, camping lanterns, mobile phones – anything to safely provide light.
"The marchers will pass the library and we hope that those who have been involved in the Sheep Trail competition will join the march. The sheep seeking children will have been searching for the twelve lambs in various shops of Penarth with the competition concluding in the library. Young and old come and sing this Christmas time and celebrate the birth of Jesus."
Christmas services are taking place in all the places of worship in Penarth on Sunday, December 21, and also on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Information is detailed in the Penarth at Christmas booklet and on notice boards and web sites.
