A DINAS Powys-based Welsh language nursery group has appointed a new leader.

Samantha Wakely , who was previously assistant to leader Elinor Elias Jones before her retirement, has made the step up after completing her training at Cylch Meithrin Y Bont Faen

Elinor still runs the popular Ti a Fi (Mother and Baby) session on Friday mornings from 9:30 based at Kynance Hall in Dinas Powys.

Cylch Meithrin sessions are held between 9.30am and 11.30am on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, led by Samantha Wakely and assisted by Sarah Jones. Children are accepted from the age of 2 and sessions cost only £7 each.

If you would like your child to be introduced to the Welsh Language in a warm, fun, happy, stimulating and safe environment or would like more information telephone Sam on 07504 392220.

This Welsh Language Nursery is run under the national umbrella of Mudiad Ysgolion Meithrin (Welsh Nursery Schools Movement). The benefits of bilingualism are well documented and more information is available at http://www.meithrin.co.uk.

Children who attend a Cylch Meithrin can progress to Ysgol Gymraeg Pen-y-Garth in Penarth or to the several well regarded Welsh Schools in Barry - Ysgol Gymraeg Sant Baruc, Ysgol Gymraeg Sant Curig, Ysgol Gymraeg Gwaun-y-Nant and Ysgol Gymraeg Nant Talwg.

All these junior schools feed the acclaimed and expanding Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Bro Morgannwg, Vale of Glamorgan Welsh Comprehensive School in Colcot Road, Barry.

Mudiad Meithrin adopts a policy of Inclusion and all children are welcome to attend any of their early years settings.
