A STANWELL Road School pupil recently took part in the Final of District 1150 Rotary Young Chef Competition.

Aimee Lintern attended the competition at Cowbridge Comprehensive School on Friday, February 27.

Competitors represented the areas of the district that covers mid, south and west Wales.

Adjudicators for the competition were Andrew Huddart from Huddart’s Restaurant in Cowbridge, Neil Hughes, Bridgend Technical College and Christopher Dale previously Country House hotel manager.

The eventual winner of the competition was Lewis Jones, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Swansea Valley and runner-up was Ben Jones, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Llandelio.

In announcing the winner Andrew Huddart said “the overall standard was very high and first place was very difficult to decide”. “The quality of the food prepared and presented was imaginative and showed a high level of skill that would grace the table of many modern restaurants.”
