A FOOTBALL legend is set to visit Penarth for a sports dinner this summer.

The world renowned Brazilian player Pele will be coming to the Vale Sports Arena on June 2 to support PG10 coaching and local junior sport.

Pele scored 1281 goals in 1363 games and won the World Cup on three occasions for Brazil.

He is the all-time leading goalscorer for Brazil with 77 goals in 91 games and is widely regarded as the greatest footballer of all time.

The event takes place at the Vale Sports Arena on Penarth Road which was officially opened at the beginning of 2016 in a move that those behind it said would transform sport in the town.

It is on the same weekend as the UEFA Champions League Final which is due to be held at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on Saturday, June and will see thousands of people descend on the capital.

This is an all ticket meet and greet event which is due to start at 6.15pm with a champagne reception on arrival, dependant on the package purchased.

The Vale Sport Arena also have sports dinners with Ricky Hatton on February 3, Glenn Hoddle on March 24, Harry Redknapp on April 21 and Stan Collymore on May 12.
