RESIDENTS at a housing estate in Penarth could soon be tucking into pizza in a new outdoor space which is being designed.

Manor Park in Penarth is set to get a new outside play space which will include public art and an outdoor pizza oven.

As part of the project, David Wilson Homes invited those living in the newly-created community to work closely with designers from Rhôd Artists Group on ideas for the exciting new outside space.

“We want to introduce an area where people can come together with neighbours and socialise, at the same time as providing play facilities for local youngsters,” said sales director Richard Lawson.

“We have been working closely with the Vale of Glamorgan Council to provide functional public art here - and some of the ideas that came from our community design event earlier this month have been wonderful.

“One very well-received piece of equipment to be installed at the development is an outdoor pizza oven.

"Our artists have embraced the principle of communal space and - much like neighbourhoods in Australia enjoy public barbecues - our residents can look forward to many an enjoyable pizza party in the future."
