ALBERT Primary School pupils have been treated to a week of special guests and practical lessons as part of STEM Week, where children focused on the subjects of science, technology, engineering and maths.

Pupils from nursery up to year six have been taking part in a fun assortment of challenges, with whole school assemblies exposing them to different aspects of STEM through interactive demonstrations.

The pupils have been learning about how aeroplanes fly, how a volcano erupts and the many amazing discoveries made by women and their contributions to STEM.

Guests sharing their expertise have included Wynne Thomas (Balfour Beatty), Andrea Green (Costain), Debby Starkey (GE Aviation) and the Science Made Simple team, who delivered their ‘Izzy’s Incredible Adventure’ show.

All pupils have written on their own ‘lab coats’, to share what they have learned about and enjoyed during the week.
