ON THIS coming Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the Penarth Open Studio Trail begins.

It is a chance for visitors to walk and meet the 27 amateur and professional artists taking part in this years event which has been growing year on year helping to establish the wealth of artistic talent here in Penarth.

Since its conception in 2014, the trail has grown in not only the numbers of local artists and makers participating, but also in the added days available for visitors to come along and meet the artists in their working environments.

It will give people the opportunity to see new art, meet the artists and also to buy original artworks from the creators themselves.

All studios are free to visit with no need to book in advance, you are assured a friendly and inviting welcome from all taking part, including Amanda Rosoman, Andrew Coslett, Angelina Hall, Angela Hart and more.

There will be a broad variety of work on show with artists and makers of fine art, glass art, felting, jewellery, sewing, fabric painting and knitting.

Eight artists will be demonstrating in watercolour, acrylic, pen and ink and fabric painting, also felt making, glass art and crochet. Trail maps are available from Penarth Library, Artisans Corner, Glebe Street and Glass BY Design, Station Approach.

All studio opening times are between 10am and 4pm daily.
