ORGANISERS are busy arranging this year’s Penarth Open Gardens event in aid of the The Children’s Society.

This is the 22nd year that Penarth/Lavernock residents have supported the event in opening their gardens to the public, which over the years has attracted thousands of people from far and wide.

In order to keep the event attractive and interesting the organisation needs more Penarth/Lavernock residents to come forward and open their gardens either on Saturday, July 28 or Sunday, July 29 or even both days.

The organisers do not pre-judge participants gardens and do not require the garden meets a standard.

A spokeswoman for Penarth Open Gardens said: "We are just very grateful that people offer their gardens to this worthwhile event. Without the support of people willing to open their gardens this well-loved event will sadly dwindle away and a wonderful weekend of horticulture be lost.

"Please support us by opening your garden and have a fabulous time meeting lots of lovely visitors who are always grateful that you have opened your garden."
