Two Welsh authors are to launch books with an award-winning bookshop in Penarth town centre next month.

Carole Burns will be promoting her new novel ‘The Same Country at the Penarth Pier Pavilion on Wednesday, September 6.

Ms Burns who moved to Cardiff from Connecticut 15 years ago, teaches creative writing at Southampton University. Her book is about family, friendship, and her time as a journalist in Connecticut.

Mel Griffin, owner of Griffin Books which is organising the event, said: “We’re so lucky to be surrounded by such talented authors and we really enjoy hosting their launch events.

“We got some amazing things coming up this autumn, so make sure you keep your eyes peeled.”

After Ms Burns's visit, Griffin Books will be joined by Louise Mumford on Thursday, September 14, who will be launching her third novel The Hotel.

Her book is centred on four friends who travel to an abandoned hotel and after a series of unexplained events only three return.
