AFTER Davina dazzled, another major TV personality is coming to Penarth.

Davina McCall wowed crowds during an event at a local school to promote her new book Menopausing, and now a giant of the TV food world, Cornwall’s finest Rick Stein himself is coming to South Wales.

Rick is next on the book tour circuit for Griffin Books, arriving in Penarth on Halloween itself, Tuesday October 31.

Fear not, Rick is here to scare, but to soothe the public with his charm and good cheer as he holds a talk with Bar 44’s Owen Morgan about his new cookbook Simple Suppers.

Rick will be at the Paget Rooms at 7.30pm for an event that is already sold out, with Owen, one of the owners of the hugely popular Bar 44 on Windsor Road, asking the questions.

Owen has made appearances on TV cookery shows himself, including Saturday Kitchen with Matt Tebbutt.

Rick describes Simple Suppers as: “Recipes that are straightforward and informal - yet effortlessly delicious.

“The idea of supper appealed to me because it suggests an ordinary meal when one is not trying too hard; maybe something you're going to cook in your jeans and Polo shirt, a glass of vinho verde on the worktop.”

If you didn’t manage to get tickets for Rick, there is still a chance to see another familiar TV face, this time in the household chore category of gardening.

Sue Kent, of Gardener’s World, will be holding a book signing of her new book Garden Notes at Griffin Books on Saturday, October 28.

It all comes off the back of Davina McCall, who smashed it when she came to Penarth to promote her new book Menopausing: The Positive Roadmap to Your Second Spring'.

Davina was described as funny, approachable, down to earth and lovely!

Tickets: £15.00 and include a copy of Garden Notes. Tickets can be booked online at www.ticketsource.co.uk/griffinbooks, or in person from the Griffin Books.
