Vale of Glamorgan residents are being urged to put the kettle on and host a 'Tea for Ty Hafan' event to help support a local children's hospice.
Tŷ Hafan, celebrating its first 25 years of operation, provides essential care for more than 350 children with life-shortening conditions annually, in Sully and across Wales, at a cost of £5.6m per year.
With only 12 per cent of this funded by statutory sources and operational costs continuing to rise, this leaves the hospice needing to make up the funds.
Thus, the hospice highly depends on public generosity for survival.
For the whole of May, readers can hold their tea parties anywhere from their homes, gardens, local halls, or workplaces.
These parties can be as grand or as simple as one chooses, with every penny raised going straight to supporting the children in need.
Tŷ Hafan has made arrangements for interested parties to receive a tea party pack loaded with Tŷ Hafan goodies to enjoy.
Those interested can sign up by emailing supportercare@tyhafan.org or calling 02920 532 255.
The Supporter Care Team is readily available for guidance on fundraising tips, publicity material, and Gift Aid.
