A CHARITY fundraiser organised by a Penarth beauty pageant hopeful has been declared a resounding success!

Danielle Winch, 26, is raising money for The Joshua Foundation in the build-up to Sunday's final of Miss Universe Great Britain.

The Penarth Marina resident set up a fundraiser at the Vale Of Glamorgan Hotel on April 10 to boost funds for the children’s charity.

Guests on the night bid for a host of auction items and enjoyed a performance by local band, Ocean Air.

Danielle said: “We were amazed at welcoming just over 100 people to what proved to be a very successful evening in the Castle Suite at The Vale Of Glamorgan Hotel.

“We managed to raise £435 on raffle tickets alone, plus £400 for three signed sports shirts that were auctioned.

“Adrian and Pat Cornelius (Joshua Foundation Official Ambassadors), who are Joshua's grandparents, joined us for the night and Ocean Air performed for over an hour to a very generous crowd.”

Danielle will battle it out with 50 other hopefuls for the Miss Universe GB 2010 at The International Convention Centre in Birmingham on May 2.

She will be judged in four rounds including an interview stage.

Contestants also have to take part in three catwalk rounds in front of a panel of judges.
