PENARTH Town Council has confirmed that for the Summer Festival Carnival Day on July 10, a free bus service will run regularly to and from Penarth Pier, using vintage and open-top buses.

The service will travel throughout Penarth, terminating at Cogan Leisure Centre, and will pick up and set down at all bus stops along the route.

The buses will also pick up passengers on a hail and ride basis where it is safe to do so. The service will operate throughout the afternoon and early evening. Buses will also return passengers to the town centre at the conclusion of the firework display.

A Town Council spokesman said: "Come along and enjoy the experience of travelling in a bus from the golden age of transport!"

The route for the service will be Penarth Pier, Marine Parade, Raisdale Road, Augusta Road, Lavernock Road, Redlands Road, Cornerswell Road, Stanwell Road, Town Centre (Windsor Terrace), Windsor Road, Cogan Leisure Centre and return.

The full bus timetable will be printed in the festival programme, which will be available in the town soon.
