ON AUGUST 6, the Marie Curie Hospice Penarth’s Annual Garden Party and Fete will be opened by ITV news presenter Mariclaire Carey-Jones.
There will be entertainment from the Barry Brass Band as well as the usual face painting, a barbecue, and a fantastic raffle.
The local fire brigade will be there, and as usual plenty of wonderful stalls where you can pick up a bargain. The gate will be opened at 12.30pm and entry will cost £1 for adults and 50p for children.
This year the garden party is being organised by a group of dedicated volunteers also known as the Hags (Hospice Activity Group).
Chair of the group, Deborah Hooper said: "I’m thrilled to be helping to organise this year’s garden party. This is such a special event for the local community and I feel proud to be part of it."
The group are currently taking donations to sell on the stalls. If you have any unwanted ‘good quality’ gifts, books or other bric-a-brac, please drop these into the fundraising department at the hospice.
If you would like to have a table on the day, also call the office on 029 2042 6068.
