THE president of Penarth Pensioners Association is appealing for a volunteer to help the group transport members to and from meetings.

The group - who gather on a Saturday afternoon between 2.30pm and 4pm at their Arcot Street home - have a bus, but no driver.

Twelve of the members require picking up and dropping off at one arranged place, but unless someone can help, president Joan Toye fears for the future of the 73-year-old club.

She said: "We meet weekly, but even if someone could accommodate us two out of four Saturdays, that would be great. It would be a real shame if the meetings had to come to an end."

Anyone willing to help can contact Joan on 029 2070 5039.
