A PENARTH charity shop faces closure after 35 years in the town - unless more volunteer workers can be found.

Oxfam, on Windsor Road, first opened in 1974, but a drop in staff numbers is threatening the shop’s future.

Manager Sue Johnson says up to eight part time staff are needed to prevent the store from closing at certain times during the week.

She said: “We are so short of volunteers at the moment.

“I need at least two people on the till and then there’s sorting and steaming clothes.

“It would be such a shame if the shop had to close.

“Even if people can work one hour a week, it would make such a massive difference.”
