A FORMER Stanwell pupil has been recognised as one of the brainiest in Wales - after being awarded top marks in his A-Level maths exams.
David Woodford, of Smithies Avenue in Sully, managed to score 100 per cent in all SIX of his A-Level Further Maths exams.
The 18-year-old, who is now studying a Maths degree at Bath University, was the only student in Wales to record the impressive perfect score in the subject.
He also achieved A grades in Maths, Economics, Computing and Physics.
"I am fortunate in that I attended a good school," he said.
"The Further Mathematics A-Level is valuable as it is essential in gaining a place to study degree level Maths at universities which are regarded as having the best Mathematics departments."
David received a special certificate and cash prize from examination board the Welsh Joint Education Committee (WJEC), together with a personal letter of congratulations from WJEC Chief Executive Gareth Pierce.
David’s dad - also called David - was impressed by his son’s efforts.
He said: “To get 100 per cent in a single paper is good, but to do it in all six is staggering!
“I’m very proud of him.”
