A FORMER Marine from Penarth will help row one million metres on Saturday, to raise money for victims of the Haiti earthquake.
Max Glover, of Althorp Drive, will join a team of rowers who hope to complete the punishing challenge by Monday evening (February 1), at the JJ Fitness And Wellbeing Studio in Cardiff.
The row will start at 6am on Saturday (January 30) and will continue until the one million metres have been completed.
Money raised from the charity challenge will be donated to UNICEF.
Max said: “Lot's of people are involved.
“I will be staying at the studio all through the night on Saturday and will be rowing as much as I can.”
It is thought more than 200,000 people have died since the magnitude 7.0 quake hit the densely populated Haitian capital, Port-au-Prince, on January 12.
Rescue efforts are continuing as the devastated country struggles to come to terms with the disaster.
