THE TRUSTEES of Lower Penarth Community Association warmly invite all members of the association and of the community to join them at the community centre in Brockhill Way on Thursday, September 25, for light refreshments at 4pm and for the Annual General Meeting at 4.30pm.

This will be an opportunity to find out more about the community centre and the wide range of activities held there, as well as to meet the people who manage and look after it for the community.

The centre is an attractive, well-maintained amenity, constantly in demand. Running a successful community centre is very rewarding and the trustees are proud of what has been built up and maintained over since it was set up in 1992. The community also appreciates the facility which is now available, though not everyone realises that the people looking after it are volunteers.

The committee members are friendly, supportive and welcoming to new members.

Many of you will have read recently in the “Penarth Times”, as well as in publicity locally, about the urgent need for more volunteers to join the committee and share in running the community centre so that it can continue to function.

All AGMs are important. This one is especially significant for Lower Penarth Community Association as it may determine whether or not the centre can continue to serve the community.

If you would like to know more before the AGM, please contact the secretary on 029 20703449 or via e-mail at ann.m.whitfield@btinternet.com . And please do come to the AGM. Your community needs you.
