Last week the Dinas Powis side lost their Welsh Indoor bowling Association match against St Paul's Penarth, by 61 shots to 105.

A packed audience at the Bristol music Club Room awaited the Penarth Male Voice Choir when they arrived there last Saturday to entertain the Bristol Welsh Society.

For two hours the Welsh speaking audience was completely enthral led by the fine singing of the Penarth Choir which alternated from robust and polished chorus work to the intensely moving songs which Welshmen love and sing so well.

Penarth Council's Pier and Esplanade Committee have agreed in principle to allow a small children's roundabout to be erected on the pier and at the top of Cliff Hill during the forthcoming Town's Holiday Week, and the week after.

The Church of St John the Baptist, Sully, has great plans for this coming year.

It is hoped to have the church completely redecorated, and also to install a new organ. At the moment the officers are waiting for the architect and the organ builders to complete their plans so that they may go ahead and apply for a faculty.

Despite an all-out effort in the last 10 minutes, Penarth went down to the Royal Higj School Former Pupils by the narrow margin of 10 points to eight in Scotland last Saturday, with the typical Scottish defence holding on well.

In an enjoyable rustic romp, Penarth's Sunday side convincingly beat their Gloucester visitors. Lydney are a strange lot - eight of them play rugby on Saturdays and take up their hockey sticks on Sundays.
