AS A regular walker along sections of the Welsh Coastal Footpath, I was disappointed and disturbed to walk, or attempt to walk, the section west from Sully Cricket Club this week.
This section several hundreds of metres in length is located between residential housing and the beach. The weeds covered the footpath and were thick enough to frequently trip me up.
Abandoning my attempt to negotiate this waist high forest of weeds, I walked on the only alternative route along some dangerous rocks on the beach.
This well publicised Welsh Coastal Footpath will no doubt attract many visitors in the fast approaching holiday period. What sort of image does this give the area?
I understand the authority responsible is the Vale of Glamorgan Council who would be well advised to clear this dangerous section of footpath before the inevitable injury compensation claims are made by visiting walkers attempting to negotiate this hazard.
