IT IS great to see the refurbished MV Balmoral back sailing in the Bristol Channel and I have recently enjoyed two trips aboard, one to Bristol up the River Avon and under Brunel's Clifton Suspension Bridge and another to Ilfracombe so all credit to the volunteers who have worked so diligently in raising around £400k for this fine ship's restoration.

The weather so far this season has been very unsettled resulting in many problems for the White Funnel Company.

Hopefully, we can look forward to some sunshine and that folk in the Bristol Channel area and elsewhere will give their support by booking some of the wonderful voyages on offer.

Prices are competitive for these days with concessions for children and seniors on certain trips.

There is no better way of viewing the superb coastline on both sides of the Channel than from the water but these delights will no longer be available to the general public and pier facilities closed if the ship does not receive the support it deserves.

As the saying goes "use it or lose it".
