I AM writing in reply to a letter in last week’s edition of the newspaper, entitled bus service not up to par.
The letter inferred that the writer’s visiting relatives were left waiting for an hour for a non-operational summer service 91 on a Friday in August. I would like to advise that the service runs on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays.
We started the service a few years back to run Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays to link Cardiff and Penarth Pier, which proved to be a success. Part way through operation last year, working with the Vale of Glamorgan and Penarth Town Councils, we were able to introduce additional journeys on Saturdays and extend the route to serve Cosmeston Lake and the Medieval Village, as well as Penarth Marina.
I am pleased to advise that summer service 91 will return again for 2016 and full details will be available from our website, cardiffbus.com, in the next few days in addition to information leaflets that will be available around the local area.
