SO 44,285 people agree with me that the Welsh National Assembly should be abolished. A good result for the Abolish the Assembly Party which was established only a short time ago and of whose existence many are unaware.
More than half the electorate (55 per cent) showed their contempt by not even bothering to vote. Once again the gap between the political class and the people. We can look forward to the day when the Welsh Government (why does the expression ‘’Mickey Mouse’’ come so readily to mind) is consigned to history.
I wish to be fair. The Assem-bly has one monumental achievement: it has abolished paper bags. Surely worth every penny of the hundreds of millions of pounds it cost.
Remember that the whole poisonous idea of devolution originated with the Liberal Democrats. Now they have one member. Truly it is said that revolutions consume their own children.
