TWO more National Servicemen who enjoyed the sporting side of their service are legends in the game of football!

Bobby Charlton, who later went on to be Sir Bobby, did his stint in the RASC and continued to play for Manchester United and England.

Lieut Cpl Duncan Edwards made 175 appearances for United between 1952 and 1958, scoring 21 goals and winning two championships medals.

He also won 18 caps for England but sadly, along with other ‘Busby Babes’, he lost his life in the 1958 Munich Air Disaster at the young age of 21.
