SULLY Bridge Club's hearts proved to be in the right place on Wednesday, when a cheque for £630 was presented to Ty Hafan children's hospice.
The club organised a charity raffle for the hospice – with a difference. All the prizes were meal vouchers donated by restaurants, cafés and pubs in the area. There were 20 donations and the club wishes to express their gratitude for their most generous help.
Linda Francis received the cheque on behalf of Ty Hafan from the club treasurer Judith Owen, with two committee members, Sam Fellows and Vernon Pearne. She expressed how delighted they were, as the hospice relies very considerably on such charity donations. Once again the club turned up trumps for charity.
The presentation was before the start of the club’s Monday afternoon session. Once everything was cleared away, it was Bridge as usual. This is a very popular club with more than 100 members. The club meets on a Monday and Wednesday afternoon, also a Saturday evening. Besides being competitive it is also very social.
