MORE than £400 has been cooked up in a fundraiser for Cogan primary school.

With the support of local businesses, parent Xiao lan Jones served up Chinese food for 16 fellow parents and friends to raise money for the school and to mark the Chinese New Year.

Xiao's husband Mark Jones said: "It is a great example of the community coming together to show support for the school and having a great time in the process.

"Xiao and Hazel Jones worked extremely hard organising this event and secured a £20 voucher from Tesco, four bottles of wine and glasses from Dean Euden from Fine Wines Direct UK and all the meat for the dinner was supplied free of charge by Thompsons Butchers in Penarth".
