PENARTH Town Council joined forces with the towns Cadets and 580 Squadron to mark Armed Forces Day with a flag raising ceremony this week.
At 10am on Monday, June 23, the Armed Forces Day flag was raised at West House to mark the National Armed Forces Day ceremonies that take place up and down the country at this time of year.
The Town Mayor addressed those who attended with a poignant speech reminding us of those who do and who have served their country. Penarth’s Army Cadets raised the flag to the bugle of Reveille whilst Penarth’s Air Cadets saluted.
The Town Mayor held a small reception on the front lawn by way of thanking those who attended the event.
