AGE Cymru is encouraging Wales’ over 50s to get ready this winter with their campaign ‘Keep Well This Winter’.
The campaign provides information and advice to older people to keep healthy and warm.
They remind people to look after their health by getting a flu vaccine, if you’re 65 or over, a carer, or have a long term medical condition; you are entitled to a free vaccination. Contact your GP or visit www.beatflu.org for more information.
Other tips include getting onto your GP’s repeat prescription service, keeping simple cold, flu and sore throat remedies at home and making sure you’re stocked up on tinned products and powdered milk.
With the weather getting colder, Age Cymru can help advise you if you are entitled to financial support on your heating bills, just call their advice line on 08000 223 444.
The campaign also highlights home safety, central heating and ventilation and heating your home over winter.
