A PENARTH youngster determined to make a name for himself in the media is set to star in a controversial reality TV show.

Luke Goodfellow, who grew up in Penarth, will make his TV debut on MTV’s ‘Ex on the Beach’ on Tuesday, January 27.

The programme, which is in its second series, sees eight youngsters spend five weeks on a Mediterranean Island, with their ex-partners moving into their luxury villa as the holiday progresses.

The single four men and four women are also joined by MTV’s Geordie Shore stars Charlotte Crosby and Gaz Beadle during the holiday, as cameras follow the romantic controversies around the clock.

Former Stanwell School pupil Luke, 23, described the show as “my dream holiday on camera” and said it could be “life changing” as it propelled him into the limelight.

“I get to do a lot of cool things that most people don’t get to do in their life time,” he said.

“I always said I was going to do something like this.

“I have always hated nine to five work and I will do anything to avoid that type of stuff.

“It’s just a laugh at the end of the day as I don’t take myself too seriously.”

Luke, who has been described as a Justin Bieber lookalike in the show’s promotional material, added that he saw himself differently to the rest of the show’s stars.

“There’s always going to be self proclaimed ladies men and they’re all quite muscular, but I stand out like a sore thumb. I see myself as quite unique out of everyone there.

“I’m definitely refreshingly different. I don’t think I’m like anyone that’s been on an MTV show before."

After starring in the show Luke, whose parents Andrea and Steve own the Marconi Holiday Village at Lavernock Point, has ambitious plans for the future.

“I want to make music, videos, cartoons and more MTV stuff,” he said.

Luke, who had the MTV logo tattooed on his arm after finishing filming, added about seeing himself on TV: “Although I might cringe for the most part, I’ll enjoy watching it.”

The second series of ‘Ex on the Beach’ will start at 10pm on MTV on Tuesday, January 27.
