A PENARTH-based charity that sends out old and unwanted tools to developing countries is appealing for donations.

Tools with a Mission collect and refurbish old and unwanted tools, before sending them out to the developing world in response to requests from charities and other organisations in those countries.

These then allow people to earn their own living with which to support their families and communities rather than relying on aid hand-outs.

A spokesman from the charity said: "We need hand tools and small mains electric tools (such as drills and sanders), but will also take larger equipment such as lathes, pillar drills and milling machines, and sewing and knitting machines.

Please see http://www.twam.co.uk/donations.html for more details of what we can accept."

He added: "We have a refurbishing unit in Penarth, but also a network of collectors around Wales, so if you have tools please contact twamcymru@twam.co.uk or phone/text 07814 573696.

"If you have friends or relatives who live in other parts of mainland UK who have tools to donate, please contact our headquarters for their local collector on 01473 210220."
