DINAS Powys Community Council held another successful litter pick along the Ash Path last week.

Starting at the Tesco car park and finishing at Sully Road eight bags of rubbish was collected.

The Vale council provided the ‘grabbers’, protective gloves and the black bags.

Chair of the Community Council, councillor Chris Franks, said: “It was a beautiful morning which made the work easier.

"We intend to hold further such events over the next few weeks. If anyone is interested in assisting please let us know."

He added: "We would appeal to people to respect this path. The Vale council reports that as it is not an adopted route they will not clean it.

"Many people think it’s only school pupils that cause the mess. In fact, it’s clear that all ages act in a disappointing manner.

"Let us know if you are prepared to assist. Contact me on familyfranks@btinternet.com or 07725497423."
