A NURSERY will be holding a charity walk in tribute to their manager.
Menda Boyce, of Hazelhurst Nursery, Plymouth Road, passed away from cancer last month.
In her memory, the event is being organised for the children, parents and staff both past and present to take part in.
This will allow the nursery to raise money for Mrs Boyce's chosen charity Cancer Research.
The sponsored walk will take place in Penarth on Sunday, May 31, starting from Penarth Pier at 10am. It will follow a designated route going along the coast line, past the cliff tops and back to the pier.
Depending on the weather on the day, the walk may also take in Cosmeston Lakes.
Organisers are planning for the children to release balloons on the walk as a symbolic gesture in remembrance of Mrs Boyce.
One of the event organisers said: "Hopefully the support shown will show how much Menda, and her husband, meant to everyone by setting up a wonderful nursery.
"This is for a fantastic cause so we hope all children and parents will come along and help us raise money for Cancer Research."
