KITCHEN company Sigma 3 have ramped up their support for Ty Hafan, as part of their 40th anniversary celebrations this year.

A new kitchen and appliances have been supplied for the families’ kitchen at the charity’s site in Sully, and various fundraising events have been taking place across the business in support.

The new parents kitchen at Ty Hafan was created when the commercial kitchen at the hospice was split in half, with the use of a dividing wall, in order to create two separate spaces.

Sigma 3’s donated kitchen was installed and supplied free of charge and is already being put to good use.

Employees have also been getting involved in organising fundraising events for Ty Hafan. More than£700 was raised earlier this year through various events including cake sales and sponsored cycles, and the staff recently held a ‘Fish n Chips Friday’ with all proceeds going to the charity

Further events will be taking place throughout the year with all funds raised being donated to Ty Hafan.

Haydn Jones, Business Services Manager at Ty Hafan, said: “We are very grateful to Sigma 3 for their ongoing support - for the generous donation of £765, the enthusiastic efforts of the employees and of course the new kitchen that they have donated.

"The new kitchen facility is greatly appreciated by the parents who visit us, for whom we provide valuable support at very difficult times and the financial support ensures we will still be around to help for many years to come.”

Chris Toozer, Finance Director at Sigma 3, said: “As a company we are delighted to continue our support for such a worthwhile cause. Since we are a kitchen manufacturer it seemed only fitting that we should kit out the new facility at Ty Hafan.

“Ty Hafan is a charity that we strive to support at every opportunity in order to help them continue their vital work and it’s heart-warming to see our staff getting personally involved with our chosen charity.

"I think once you visit the hospice and see what they do for families, it’s difficult not to offer some support. We were delighted to be able to present Ty Hafan with a cheque for £765 in March and we will be continuing to work closely with them.”
