A PENARTH primary school's new head teacher has proved to be a good sport at her first summer fair.

Pupils at Victoria Primary School got the chance to throw a cream pie at their new head teacher, Samantha Daniels, at the event.

Children bought raffle tickets to be lucky enough to have a go, with seven-year-old Billy Rasbuary eventually handed the honour.

A parent at the school said afterwards: “Mrs Daniels is a champion, the kids all love her. What a terrific sport.”

The school also organised a Roald Dahl themed Bake Off, which parents and pupils participated in.

The winning bakers were Beatrice Pooley, aged five, and Lola Evans, 11.

Several businesses donated raffle prizes, while Tesco Community provided a hot dog stall.

Music was performed by the Blackwier Brass and the fire service attended to give children tours of the engines.

Money raised will go towards a long awaited makeover of the school canteen.
