THE LATEST piece in our From the Archives series features “Avon’s Corner”.
Each week we are exploring photographs from Penarth’s past and the history behind them.
Ernest Avon Builders operated in Penarth from 1885-1992.
The firm’s sign, is prominently shown here on the boundary wall of Penarth Villa.
This was the Avon family home for nearly 50 years on the corner of Hickman Road and Stanwell Road.
This became known locally as “Avons’ Corner.”
Thank you to Marion Avon for sharing this image with us.
We are always keen to see your images and hear about the history of the town that they portray.
If you have any old photographs of Penarth or Dinas Powys you would like to share with us to feature in the series, contact us by emailing penarthtimes@penarthtimes.co.uk with your full name.
