OUR latest From the the Archive feature focuses on the seafront in Penarth.
Each week we look at the history behind historical photographs of the town and its people.
This photograph takes a look back at Penarth seafront during the summer of 1989, 28 years ago.
The ever-popular Chandler’s wine bar and renowned restaurant The Caprice – run by the Rabaoiti family for generations – can be seen in the photo, which also shows the unique Edwardian charm of Beachcliff.
Many thanks to Andrew Coslett of Images of Bygone Penarth for supplying this photo.
We are always on the lookout for more interesting and historical images of Penarth.
