PLAID Cymru councillors have warned that preparations for a Dinas Powys bypass are missing from key council documents.
During last week’s budget debate, Plaid Cymru leader on the Vale Council, Cllr Ian Johnson, noted that there was no budget line for spending on bypass preparations in the next five years.
Cllr Johnson also pointed out that the Cardiff Capital Region’s draft Regional Transport Strategy makes no mention of the proposals.
Plaid Cymru Dinas Powys community councillor Richard Grigg said that the Conservatives promises of no housing without improving the village’s infrastructure were being broken.
Cllr Grigg said: “Before the election, the Conservatives promised there would be no housing developments in the village without transport infrastructure in place.
“Since then, the Conservatives have voted for Dinas Powys’ biggest housing application in more than 30 years at St Cyres and there is no bypass in sight.
“The gap between Tory rhetoric and action is clear to Dinas Powys residents.”
