THE by-election for Sully and Lavernock Community Council is taking place this Thursday, March 15.
Two candidates are standing in the race to replace former community councillor Chris Thorne, who resigned last month.
Retired consulting engineer Graham Newton, who has lived in Sully since 1984, is vying for election on the platform of campaigning for additional facilities in Sully, particularly for younger people.
Ex-police officer Steve Oaten wants to improve community engagement between members of the public and the council and pledges to echo the views of local people on plans to build more housing in Sully and Lavernock.
Polling stations at the Old School on South Road and the Jubilee Hall on Smithies Avenue will be open between 7am and 10pm.
