St Cyres pupils celebrate 'superb' GCSE results

ST CYRES pupils have celebrated another year of 'superb' GCSE results.

Aspiring writer Ellen Mahenthiralingam was one of the highest achievers with 10 A*s and an A. "I’m over the moon. I’m coming back to study Geography, German, History and English A-levels," she said.

Theo Llewellyn (9A* 3A) will study Biology, Chemistry, Art and Performance Arts and said: "I’m really pleased. I wasn’t that nervous until I started talking to everyone about results on the way to school!"

Daniel Cotton (7A 4B 1C) will study Physics, Biology, Maths and Computing and said: "I’m really happy with my results. I want to work for NASA when I’m older. I could be working on the Mars probe!"

Chloe Whiteley (3A* 4A 3B) will study A-levels in Science, Media, Catering and French and said: "I'd like to be a primary school teacher."

Bronwyn Wheatley (2A* 7A 2B) said: "I did better than I thought I would," and her mum Kathryn added: "I’m so proud. She worked very hard and deserved to do well."

Headteacher Dr Jonathan Hicks said: "Once again our hard-working students have lived up to our mission statement ‘Strive Together, Challenge Yourself, Realise Everyone can Succeed’ and gained a superb set of results. "Warmest congratulations to all of them, and our committed and skilled staff."
