WITH both the 1st and 2nd XI league matches rained off on Saturday, Sully Centurions had to wait until the Sunday friendly at near neighbours Barry Wanderers to play some cricket.
Centurions batted first and lost some early wickets before Shae Ellis came to the crease.
His unbeaten 66 was the highlight of the Sully innings, but there was very little else to write home about and the innings came to close with the score on 144.
After a nice tea Wanderers set about chasing the modest total. Both openers looked comfortable and found the boundary many times. In spite of a rapid rotation of bowlers, Centurions couldn’t make the breakthrough and the hosts reached the target with plenty of overs to spare.
The game was played in an excellent spirit, with both sides enjoying the cricket and exchanging some good banter.
Barry Wanderers 146-0 Sully Centurions 144 all out
