LLANDOUGH Primary School pupil Katie Hooper secured two bronze medals at this year’s Welsh Open Tae Kwon Do Championships.
Katie competed at Sophia Gardens on Saturday, June 11, and was presented her medal by Grandmaster John F Williamson, ninth Dan, and Grandmaster M Prewett, ninth Dan.
She came third in the under-13s competition for both sparring and patterns.
After taking up Tae Kwon Do just three months ago, Katie is already moving through her gradings. She recently achieved her yellow belt along with her fellow students.
Katie is taught by Victoria Phillips at Glyndwr Hall in Penarth who dedicates a lot of time to her students and the club.
