ON JANUARY 12 the Penarth Bridge Club Championship was run on handicap and the winners and new Handicap Champions were Pat Sullivan and Hugh Simmonds with 63 per cent.
Peter Millar and Trish Tracey were second with 58 per cent.
On January 19 the contest continued with Peter Millar and Trish Tracey becoming the Club Pairs “Rose Bowl” Champions with a combined total of 217MPs.
Alan Lightbody and Martin Thomas were second with 190 MPs.
In February the club runs Rose’s League, in memory of Rose Brannon who was a member of the club.
There are three rounds. The first is on Friday February 2, then February 9 and February 16.
The club meets on Tuesday and Friday nights at the Kymin in Penarth.
On Thursdays at 10am, there is a very relaxed and enjoyable beginner’s session.
