Dinas Powys Youth 21 Barry Youth 0

AFTER last Saturday's 20-8 win away to Canton, Dinas Powys Youth welcomed local rivals Barry to the Common.

Belief in both camps was high with Barry also having posted a fine win against Fairwater.

Barry arrived with a big set of forwards intent on disrupting Dinas' high-tempo style of rugby.

Dinas started well from the kick-off and ten minutes in, some fine interlinking play from the backs resulted in a well worked try scored by centre Lloyd.

During the scoring of the try, one of the Barry players was injured which resulted in the game being delayed some 20 minutes.

Following the re-start it was scrappy in patches, but the Dinas forwards gradually gained the upper hand with a second try for Lloyd. Winger Lewis Fazloddin (Fazzy) then scored a third try, and all three conversions were successfully kicked by scrum half Darren Breed.

The players and management team would like to thank the committee for their new set of playing shirts – since receiving them, the team remain unbeaten!
