Dinas Powys FC beaten by opponents in final three minutes of second half

THE final three minutes of this game saw Dinas concede two goals and with it, three points as well.

Dinas got their passing game going early on pressing well but Llanelli soon matched them and Steve Stone had the first shot which sailed over the Dinas cross bar from 25 yards. Liam Samual was then fouled and awarded a free kick which he took himself, he hit it well but it was just wide of James Curtin's left post.

With 10 minutes on the clock Nicky Bruce took a superb free kick wide on the left from 30 yards which reached midfielder James Marr to clip into the Llanelli net from close range for the opener.

The visitors rallied forcing several corners which were superbly defended by James Bloxham and Paul Caulfield.

Llanelli were content to try and clip long balls over the top for their pacy front men to chase which, on the whole the Dinas back four were coping with well.

The home side began to look dangerous again and good link up play involving Keiron James and striker Adam Johns ended when Llanelli's 'keeper Jamie Evans just got to a cross from James first as Johns was closing in.

The visitors were dangerous on the break and a free kick from Steve Stone was headed just over the Dinas bar by their towering centre half Lee Bevan but with 38 minutes on the clock they got the equaliser when a cross from the right by Samual was headed home at the far post by Stone, against the run of play and the half ended with the score still at 1-1.

Dinas started the second half well and a shot in the first minute from Rhys Palmer was only just wide. This was followed by good work by Scott Muir who beat his marker to square the ball to Johns but his effort was just wide of the right post.

The home side then made their first substitution, James Perret making way for Chris Bramhill.

The visitors were still looking dangerous and Dinas 'keeper Curtin had to make a good save when Richard Lewis crossed to Samual to shoot on target.

However, it was Dinas who took the lead again 22 minutes into the half when Muir netted from a James cross giving Evans no chance to save.

The visitors then made two substitutions and Dinas made one, Myles Case replacing the hard-working Muir.

Johns made a fine run down the left but was tackled just as he was about to shoot. Evans then miss-kicked a goal clearance straight to Palmer who fired it back on target but Evans saved.

Palmer was then replaced by Reuben Bryl.

Llanelli were still winning several corners but the Dinas defence were battling hard to keep them out and it was the home side that nearly added to their tally when Bryl found Johns and his shot brought a good save from Evans just under the cross-bar.

Just as it looked as if Dinas had gained the points with three minutes remaining, a cross field ball found Robert Thomas wide on the left and he lobbed Curtin who could not quite reach his effort to make it 2-2.

Curtin was then called into action to make a fine reaction save from Samual resulting in a corner which was bundled into the net by Steve Stone in the final minute of play to give the visitors the win.

Caldicot Town visit the Murch on Wednesday, April 13 with a 6.30pm kick-off and Ammanford are the visitors on Saturday, April 16, 2.30pm kick-off.
