Ladies competition results from Dinas Powis Golf Club

Starting on February 7, was a nine hole waltz which was won by Sue Bridle, Sian Smith and Maxine Hird with 37 points. In second was Ann Mahenthiralingam and Audrey Harwood with 32 points and third was Lisa Ryley, Annie Blackburn and Dorothy Amery with 31 points.

On February 14, a nine hole medal white elephant was played. First went to Lisa Ryley with 44 - 8 = 36, second was Maxine Hird with 48 - 12 = 38 and third was Sian Smith with 49 - 11 = 38.

Going into March, the first competition played was a nine hole stableford on Wednesday 7. In first was Sian Smith with 18 points on the back six from second placed Maxine Hird with 18 points and third went to Dorothy Amery with 17 points.

On March 14, the ladies played a nine hole medal, won by Sue Bridle with 42 – 9 = 33 nett. Second was Lisa Ryley with 44 – 8 = 36 nett and third went to Sian Smith with 48 – 10.5 = 37.5 nett.

On March 21, Ruth Yates won the nine hole stableford with 18 points. Next up with second was Dorothy Amery with 16 points and third was Maxine Hird with 15 points on the back six from Ann Mahenthiralingam with 15 points.

The ladies played two competitions on March 18. The first was the start of their 18 hole competitions which was the hi-lo stableford. Sian Smith and Maxine Hird won the competition with 73 points, in second was Sue Bridle and Ruth Yates with 61 points and third was Carolyn Jones and Dot Amery with 59 points.

There was then a nine hole stableford, won by Angela Thomas with 18 points, followed in second by Sharon Jesson with 15 points and third was June Jones with 13 points.

The ladies has also been coming in a winter eclectic from January 10 to March 21. Winning the competition was Sian Smith with a 38 gross - 5.25 = 32.75, in second was Maxine Hird with a 39 gross - 5.75 = 33.25 and third was Lisa Ryley with a 38 gross - 4 = 34.

Well done to all the ladies for playing so many matches when the weather has been quite inclement.
